Stack Dynamics SS7 Stack - Specification

SCCP

The primary function of SCCP (Signalling Connection Control Part) is to provide a means for the transfer of messages between any two signalling points in the same or different (but interconnected) SS7 networks.

SCCP provides the following extra facilities over MTP:

  • An address may be specified as a global title, which may consist of a national or international telephone number, or a number from any other specified scheme.
  • An address may be specified as a destination point code (DPC) plus subsystem number where subsystem number is an 8-bit number. (MTP can only address a DPC plus a 4-bit user number).
  • SCCP may segment/recombine messages which would be otherwise not possible to transfer in one MTP message.

Stack Dynamics SCCP will implement a subset of the full SCCP. In particular only the connectionless services will be implemented.

Stack Dynamics SCCP Features

  • Q.711-Q714
  • National and international networks
  • Class 0 (basic connectionless)
  • Class 1 (sequenced connectionless)
